Handheld shopping is a budding trend in the internet retail industry. In the days of yore, customers were confined to only desktop environment to look for iPhone deals for example. Now, mobile platform is itself popularly used for browsing through products and price comparison and purchases.
The global leading digital business tracker gave a testimony to increasing propensity of buyers towards mobile shopping in its monthly survey report, saying ‘two of every five smartphone owners have used mobile device to make purchase’ in September.
Daily deals were found one of the top categories sought and grabbed from handheld mobile devices.
Thirty four per cent of total smartphone owners of 18 plus age purchased daily deals, noted Mobile Retail Advisor Survey Sep. 2011 conducted by comScore.
“Considering there are currently 90 million smartphone owners in the U.S., retailers without a well-developed mobile strategy are not only missing a tremendous opportunity with these customers but also risk becoming obsolete in the minds of these digital omnivores,” said Mark Donovan, comScore senior vice president for mobile.
Other products that were bought by at least 38 per cent of smartphone population included eBooks, TV shows, dresses, event passes, gift vouchers, TV, computers, fast foods, hotel room nights, airplane tickets, flowers, etc.
Justifiably, that’s why, daily deal sites are coming up with their distinguished versions of mobile apps in the course of empowering mobile buyers to cash in on the best deals out there.
A finding in the survey went on to challenge the perception that mobile devices are used for shopping only when buyers are roaming around.
Half of the mobile shoppers in the survey made shopping from the coziness of their home. As near as 56 per cent smartphone buyers placed buying orders from home, suggested the report.
Buyers are getting fond of comfort and majority of them apparently love to enjoy retail service—that is but not limited to deal of the day—while reclining comfortably in chaise longue.
One can say that it is not only a label of hot deals that set the buyers in motion, but deal mongers have also to stud their deals with hands-on technologies to facilitate comfort conscious coupon collectors.

What new Canon will bring in Canon Offers in 2012?
Canon offers
came under extreme pressure of earthquake and surprisingly strong Yen as Canon
Inc., one of the world’s leading imaging solutions providers, saw decline in
its operating profits in the March quarter. Last year’s too did not stay good
for the company.
How earthquake impacted the sale may be quite understandable and thus self-explanatory, but why strong yen (1 Japanese Yen= 0.012587 U.S. dollar) has brought down sale of the company will be a valid question brewing in minds that are infused with the basic economic fact that good value of local currency against foreign exchange means a lot for making an economy prosperous and growth-oriented. Especially, that is more applicable to emerging or developing economies.
However, it is also a reality that if local currency gains much value vis-à-vis foreign exchange i.e. dollar then it hurts the local industry specifically one having global operation. Strong local currency syndrome is what exactly debilitates sale volume of Canon offers.
Price competition affected the sale. The company’s net sales slid four per cent year on year to $45.6 billion in 2011 while gross profit came down 2.6 per cent to $22 billion and operating profit slid 2.4 per cent to $4.8 billion. March quarter result did neither indicate improving sign.
The Japanese tech dragon, which is known for its cameras worldwide, has also made name in manufacturing of equipments for health, film, and other industries.
For the ongoing year, the company’s strategies focus on to enhance the sales of its popular offers—Canon deals that were well received by the customers in 2011, according to the company’s annual report 2011.
Expansion is planned in the commercial sector, healthcare solutions, and medical equipments. For example, digital camcorders have not lost charm to Hollywood and motion film industry and rather demand of high resolution camcorders is growing.
Similarly, efforts are afoot to give a push to Cinema EOS System including cameras and lenses for movie production. Digital radiography system will stay on the frontline of sale in the healthcare marketplace.
Aficionados of high resolution picture quality continue to be overwhelmed with attractive choices in retail photo finishing service market. DreamLabo 5000, the commercial photo printer, photo albums and photo prints will stand as the prime sale driving forces.
In 2011, demand for digital SLR (Single-Lens-Reflex) cameras showed impressive upswing worldwide whereas digital cameras were on the demand chart alone in the emerging economies. (SLR) cameras are famous for their distinctions in capturing.
Canon offers elicit major sale from Europe, Middle East, and Africa (31.3 per cent), Americas (27 per cent), and Asia and Oceania (19.5 per cent). It is to be seen how much Canon succeeds in reviving sale growth.

Android tablet PC on its way to lead the tablet market?
Will
Android-powered tablets be able to clinch the leading position in the global
tablet market in years to come? Although this seems a distanced dream with iPad
enjoying 55 per cent market share and experts foresee it reaching to 61 per
cent this year, the future looks in favor of Android
tablet PC—needless to mention Android media tablet. Why?
In Smartphone market, Android has turned out to be No. 1 operating system with 56 per cent market share in the first quarter of 2012 dragging iOS to the second position with 23 per cent, according to a research firm Gartner.
The chief rival of Apple in Smartphone market, Samsung uses icecream sandwich and gingerbread in its handsets including sensational Galaxy S II and up and coming Galaxy S III. Different stats confirm the sale of Samsung’s smartphones outpacing iPhone in the March quarter.
Google’s android is open-to-all kind of software in both Smartphone and tablet markets. On the other hand, iOS is confined to iGadgets only. Most of the tablet makers (both media and PC-type tablets) opt for Android. Obviously, when a person goes for Android tablet PC, s/he has a good number of choices automatically such as Hyundai tablet, HP TouchPad, BlackBerry PlayBook, etc. to choose from.
In addition, new developments also pose threats to iOS’s domineering role. Not that people will have some incentives when they opt to buy Android tablet, but basically competition to Apple will surface from every nook and corner especially as soon as win 8 springs up as a befitting challenger.
Apart from touch improvements that will be one of the specialties of Microsoft’s new introduction, win 8 is expected to give user facility of cross-platform application’s usage just like Apple does by allowing cinchiest integration of application on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Actually, “the key to Apple’s media tablet success has been its offering of a complete hardware-plus-content ecosystem,” said Rhoda Alexander, director for monitors and tablets research at IHS.
“The combination of a good-looking device, well-designed applications, video, books and music has provided consumers with an easy-to-use product and an appealing use case. Such an ecosystem took Apple years to put together, starting with the iPod plus iTunes Music Store more than nine years ago, and it's proving to be a challenge for the company's competitors to replicate it.”
Now, it is time that Apple reinvents itself to sustain its leadership in the tablet market as the competitors have learnt lessons of how to win customer’s heart and mind.

Hyundai A7 A Budget-Friendly Tablet
Hyundai
A7 is
a budget-friendly tablet as compared to other tablets in the market. For
example, you can buy Hyundai
A7 capacitive Android 4.0 tablet with 3G, Wi-Fi (white) in the band of
$110 to $129. Online discount sites brim with off-price latest tablets. What
you need to do is carry out a little research and make price comparisons before
making a final buying decision.
In this price range, compared with the cutting-edge iPad starting from $499, a tablet will certainly be an unavoidable bargain. Even, iPad 2 is being sold at $399.
A tablet is being considered as a successor of notebook since it has all the prime technical specifications in a small size and hands-on functions that can easily be used on the go.
Hyundai tablet has its own distinctions to compete with the contemporary brands in the same price. Especially, Hyundai A7, run on Android, is laden with attractive features including 8GB hard drive capacity, cortex-A8 processor, 800x480 resolution, HD capacity of up to 8G, 3D game support, 3G, Wi-Fi, etc.
So, whether you want to play games or carry out words processing, Hyundai tablet is the best companion.
The 7-inch screen has long been unacceptable to Steve Jobs. For him, it is like tweener —something that is neither A nor B —“too big to compete with a smartphone and too smart to compete with an iPad”. He liked 10-inch as a suitable screen size for iPad.
Whatever might be the revered Jobs’ reservations about the size of best tablet pc, however, the Cupertino-based Apple Inc. would not resist the idea of throwing 7.86-inch in the market.
Apple holds nearly 60 per cent share of the tablet market, followed by Android-powered devices that collectively hold 39 per cent market share. Global tablet shipments are forecast to go up 90 per cent to 124 million units in 2012 from 65 million a year ago.
Microsoft will become the potential competitor of Apple when it comes up with its much-awaited Win 8, all-in-one OS solution for desktop, notebook, and tablet, this summer, reportedly in June. According to the analysts, the real showdown in the tablet space will begin in the holiday shopping season when iPad faces real threats from win 8-powered tablet PCs.
Android tablet pc is already giving a tough competition to iOS-run tablet though it has yet to assume a dominant role. Unquestionably, a person prefers to buy android tablet because of the price benefit it gets on buying Kindle Fire, Hyundai, or Samsung.
