Travel Deals: Counterforce to high rise in travelling prices in 2012

History is not always a mirror to the future. Amidst the present economic uncertainty, you can expect anything positive or negative turning out next moment.

Tracking the indictors, however, doomsters spew frightening stuffs in relation to the major economic sectors.

Travel industry is one such important spinner of economic activities that is expected to be underperforming this year.

But where there is yin, there is yang. There are forces that can defy economic challenges. Experts enlist travel deals as a counterforce that will continue to prove effective in challenging the price inflation.

Carlson Wagonlit Travel, an organization of repute in the industry, forecasts not only airline pricing will go up by 5.8 per cent, but daily hotel rates will also jump nine to 11.8 per cent in the first half and 10.1 to 12.2 per cent in the second half.

Group business travel is expected to grow only 4.2 per cent in 2012 as against 7.6 per cent a year ago, according to the Business Travel Quarterly Outlook prepared by Global Business Travel Association (GBTA).

Spending on business trips will be no less than $263 million. Yet, it will be due to the price inflation. Originally, there will be a decline of 0.8 per cent in the numbers of business trips.

Travel deals touted from daily deal platforms help travelers to enjoy off-price traveling. You may recall an opinion of an industry analyst at a top research company. He said majority of travelers choose their destinations after getting into threadbare cost comparison.

With lot more choices in shape of review sites, daily deals, and flash sale sites available out there, the cost comparison and product searches have become cakewalks.

That’s why world’s top group buying sites are responding to the call of time and devising best deals of travel and hospitality for their subscribers. The deals thin out inflated prices of car rentals, accommodations, and transportation fares. Groupon’s partnership with the Expedia can be cited as an example. Hot deals are still flickering at a number of platforms.
